Welcome to the LAIPP project web-site
The challenge of the globalization requires a bigger engagement for the companies in order to increase the quality of their products.
Recently, European governments have started a process of markets developing based on the Integrated Product Policy (IPP) with the main goal of developing technical guidelines, tools and services for the enterprises of a sector that allow the application and spreading of eco-design practices and environmental management systems all along the product chains. In fact, environmental quality standards are now, both in Europe and in the world, one of the most important aspect regarding the quality of a product.
The LAIPP project is a specific help for the IPP implementation in the wood-furniture sector of the Marche Region. This sector represents a very interesting case because of its importance for number of enterprises, homogeneity of the production typology (and consequently repetition of the actions) and concentration in a bounded area.
The project was financed by European community as suggest by the Marche Region and its coordinator is Cosmob (Consortium of Furniture Manufacturers). It foresees three kinds of partners: public bodies and entrepreneurial institutions, scientific and technical bodies and important private companies.
The present initiative has the aim of spreading the ecologic label and, more in general, of putting in effect IPP tools in a sector characterized by SME presence. Furthermore, the project will concretely allow to realize supplied tools helpful for all the sector.
The www.ecoSMEs.net web-site place at participants’ disposal all the project information and tools needed for the IPP implementation ((eVerdee (http://www.ecosmes.net/everdee/login2) for LCA studies and (www.ecosmes.net/tespi/login2) for eco-design ).
